Causeway, Directions & Parking
Yes, you can drive to Antelope Island. The only road onto the island is the Davis County Causeway, a narrow two-lane road that starts in Syracuse, Utah; the park's address is 4528 West 1700 South, Syracuse, UT 84075. You pay the entrance fee at the booth ($15 per car), and the causeway carries a separate $2 Davis County fee for holders of the statewide park pass. Uber and Lyft don't pick up inside the park, so come in your own car or a rental. Park only in designated lots, never along the roadside.
Getting There at a Glance
Directions
Head for Syracuse in Davis County and follow the park address, 4528 West 1700 South, to the start of the causeway; the official park page has a "Directions" button that opens Google Maps at the park entrance. The causeway runs across the lake to the island's northern tip, near the marina. The Visitor Center and Park Office are just south of where the road lands (Visitor Center).
Gas, food, lodging and medical services are in Davis County, 7 to 14 miles east of the island, so fill up before you cross. On the island the only food is the seasonal Island Buffalo Grill at Bridger Bay Beach.
The Davis County Causeway
The causeway from Syracuse was finished in 1969, when the state park was created. Rising lake water flooded it in 1983 and closed the park; it was rebuilt in 1992 and the park reopened in 1993 (About).
- The causeway fee: holders of the Utah State Parks annual pass pay a separate $2 Davis County Causeway fee, or buy a $15 causeway sticker at the entrance booth. The $65 Antelope Island Annual Pass already includes it (Hours & Fees).
- Biking: the causeway has a large designated bike lane and is popular with road cyclists.
- The smell: on some days the causeway smells of rotten eggs, from hydrogen sulfide released by lake bacteria. It usually fades once you reach the island.
- Bugs and birds: in summer, harmless non-biting midges form columns along the causeway, and the water on both sides is one of the best places on the island to see shorebirds (Wildlife & Birds).

No Rideshare Pickups
Utah State Parks warns that rideshare drivers such as Uber and Lyft do not pick up from the park, and advises renting a car so you aren't stranded on the island.
Parking on the Island
Park only in designated parking areas, at the places you're visiting. Roadside parking is not allowed, even to watch bison. Horse trailers must use the designated trailheads with hitching rails: Mountain View, White Rock Bay and the Fielding Garr Ranch.
Opening Hours
The gates are open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas. There's no entry after the gate closes (Hours & Fees).
